A tear-stained letter

Finds its way onto your doorstep

Read it carefully

And ignore the smudges

Excuse my grammar

My hands were shakey

My voice was cracking

When I read it out loud

How was the poem

I know, rather pointless

You see, all the writing

Took way too much time

Did you notice my signature?

I almost erased it

But you needed to see this

Lord knows you needed to read this:

 

You cast me aside, and rightfully so

You took all my pride;  now there's negative digits

I spoon-fed you lies and you swallowed them whole

You opened your eyes, and the blame took its toll

Rightfully so

Oh, rightfully so

 

A short-lived phone call

Finds it's way into your bedroom

Please dont hang up now

There's not much to say

We could do without yelling

That's all I remember

From previous convos

That died anyway

I hear that you're happy

It hurts, but I'm glad

I know that you're better

With me off your mind
